Nearly 30 have already been placed with new owners but approx. 45 horses remain, and represent a wide range of ages, sizes, and breeds.Coffey County Sheriff Randy Rogers said "the main goal is to find placement for all of them and the court has given me 21 days to do so."
Individuals interested in being selected for placement need to contact Karen Everhart at 316-648-5082 or by email at horsecalls@gmail.com.

School Safety
Posted by: Lindzey
August 16, 2010 - 2:32 PM
Gosh I can't believe school is starting back up. No matter how long I've been out of school it still make my stomach turn a little bit . Never was good at the whole school thing. Instead of reading books ...I read magazines....Instead of listening to lectures...I cat napped....and Instead of going to school functions...I skipped them to go to rock concerts! Honestly, if you had tickets to see Rob Zombie in KC would you stay for a Kansas State Exam? Nope! So I didn't know then but I guess I was just preparing for my career in radio! Anyways, now that school is getting underway and anyone who has been caught speeding in school zones knows that you want to watch for those and slow down...Those tickets are not cheap...Not that I would know anything about that. Ugh! Also, our bright young students will be walking and riding their bikes to school so on the way to work...please don't hit them with your vehicle! Please do your part to make this a safe school year for our kids.
