Coffey County EMS offers a one-day cardio-pulmonary resuscitation class on Tuesday, February 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The public is inivited to participate, and no prior training is required. Emergency Medical Technician J.D. Schlesener will lead the course in Coffey County Hospital's Allen Woods 2 Conference Room.

The Grascals

From Nashville, Tennessee The Grascals, a six-piece bluegrass band will be performing at The Bowlus Fine Arts Center in Iola on Saturday, February 18th.

Founded in 2004, the band has since gained a level of notability by playing on the Grand Ole Opry and in bluegrass festivals around the country. You don't want to miss the #1 Bluegrass band in the Country.

This benefit is to help support our local scholarship fund. Each year we five one high school senior a $500.00 scholarship to the college of their choice.  This is not supported by local county funds.  It is purely by the members of the fire department or by donations.  This breakfast will be a free will donation and will support our kids of our community.
